Naukuchiatal is a small but serene hill station, located at an altitude of 1218 Mts and 24 km from Nainital. Well known for its 9 cornered lake ‘Naukuchiatal’, it also holds a mystery in itself. As per the legends whoever sees all the nine corners of the Naukuchiatal at one shot, attains Nirvana.

Naukuchiatal also known as Naukuchital is an impressively fascinated lake with 9 corners. Its name Nau-Kuchia-Tal also symbolises it as ‘nine-cornered lake’. Peaceful and serene beauty of Naukuchiatal attracts visitors and provides a mental calmness. Naukuchiatal is mostly covered up by oak forests and green forests. An underwater spring nourished lake, Naukuchiatal is 40 mtr deep which makes its deepest lake in Nainital.

How To Reach Naukuchiatal

Naukuchiatal is located at a distance of 24 km and 26 km from Nainital and Kathgodam respectively. Buses and taxis are available at regular interval from Nainital and Kathgodam to Naukuchiatal.
