Mall Road is the best place to explore the scenic beauty of Naini Lake and Nainital town. Running alongside the Naini lake, Mall road passes through the heart of the town and one of the busiest road in day time.

Constructed during the British time period, Mall road connects Mallital and Tallital, two ends of the Nainital town. Now it is officially renamed as Govind Ballabh Pant Marg, but still famous as Mall road. Visitors and locals fond of taking a stroll in Mall road at evening as Nainital romanticism is at peak this time and its offers magnificent views of the town.

Apart from tourists attraction, Mall road promenade is also acts as major commercial hub and series of innumerable shops, hotels, restaurants, banks, travel agencies and street shops with exclusively the ‘Made in Nainital’ stamps are filled with tourists all the time.

In the peak season i.e during May-June, Mall road is prohibited for vehicles for the smooth walk of tourism in it.

Mall Road Traffic Rules

Entry of heavy traffic is prohibited during the months of May, June and October from 8 AM to 10.30 AM and 2.30 PM to 10.30 PM, light vehicles from 6.00 PM to 10.00 PM and cycle rickshaw from 6.00 PM to 9.00 PM. 

Parking is strictly prohibited on the Mall Road except some designated parking places with in Nainital. 

Between 6-9 p.m during season time, traffic is completely prohibited.
